RH farmers market
The Richmond Farmers Market is on Tuesdays in J.F. Gregory Park.

Here are a few of the events coming to our area:

June 2

The Richmond Hill Public Library Book Club will meet at 11 a.m. in the small conference room to discuss "The Paying Guests" by Sarah Waters. Copies of the book are available at the library. Newcomers are welcome.

The Savannah Jewish Federation will host "A Summer Schpiel – Beach, Bagel, Borscht and Bingo" at 7 p.m. at the Jewish Educational Alliance, 5111 Abercorn St., Savannah. This is a casual theatrical evening of stories, song and sustenance. Cost is $8 for members, $10 for non-members.

June 4

The Richmond Hill History Museum, 11460 Ford Ave., hosts Cars and Coffee from 9-11 a.m. the first Saturday of each month from March through October. Next is June 4. Admission is free. The Exchange Club of Richmond Hill will host its 26th annual fishing derby from 8 a.m. to noon at the Richmond Hill Fish Hatchery, 110 Hatchery Drive. Derby is free and open to participants 15 and younger, but anglers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Prizes will be awarded in several categories. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and fishing starts at 8:30. Go to www.rhxc.org/fishing.htm.

June 6

Richmond Hill Montessori Preschool, 2933 Highway 17, is accepting enrollment for summer camps for children entering kindergarten through seventh grade. Camps cost $135 per child per week, and each week brings a different theme. Call 912-756-4554 or go to www.richmondhillmontessoripreschool.com.

June 7

Fort Morris State Historic Site, 2559 Fort Morris Road, Midway, will host the 2016 Junior Ranger Camp from 9 a.m. to noon June 7-11. Cost is $30 per child ages 7-12 for the week. This year’s theme is "Bubbles, Birds and Battles." The rangers will focus on Fort Morris, Sunbury, wildlife and nature through fun activities, games, crafts and special guests.
