The Richmond Hill Historical Society will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday in the main building at Fort McAllister.
Danny Brown, head ranger at the park, will talk about the history of the fort and will lead a tour of the newly redesigned museum and Fort McAllister.
It will be an interesting and fun event. All Historical Society members and their guests are welcomed to attend.
Sherman’s March to the Sea ended at our own Fort McAllister. Enjoy the unique opportunity to learn why McAllister was vulnerable by land after having repelled numerous attempts to destroy it by sea. What integral part did Bryan Neck have in the developments surrounding the Civil War?
