Over 2,000 years ago, there was this one called Jesus Christ who came on the scene in history. He preached, taught and healed the sick. Crowds gathered just to see if he was going to perform another miracle.
Most people missed the main reason for his coming — to be the one who could offer them forgiveness, peace and eternal life. In other words, he came so that he could be their savior.
People made choices as to how they would respond to him and many made the wrong choice when asked by Pilate before his crucifixion, “What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?”
They emphatically answered, “Crucify him!”
In our day, we as human beings still are making choices as to how we will respond to this one called Christ. Each one of us is responsible for our own choice; no one can make it for us. We can choose to reject him and suffer the consequences of eternal damnation or we can choose to be his follower and experience his love, joy, peace and fulfillment and in the end inherit eternal bliss.
The great news is that we get to choose.
