Listen to right one for eternal life

Many still believe the lie of Satan today; they fail to see that sin separates man from God (Isaiah 59:1-2). They fail to understand that when they give in to their desires to do wrong things, they — not God — are causing the problem.
“Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God, for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man. But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death” (James 1:13–15).
God loves mankind and wants him to be saved, but God’s will must be obeyed. That begins with a person understanding and obeying the Gospel as set out in the New Testament. The book of Acts serves to show man how to obey the Gospel, as case after case is shown as examples.
Some have said different ones did different things. The reason for that is that they were at different stages; some knew about Jesus, others did not know anything about him. On Pentecost, the Apostle Peter reminded his audience about Jesus and the things he had done in their presence. He told of the miracles that Jesus had done, and that they knew what he was saying to be true. When they realized they had crucified the Son of God, they stopped his sermon and asked what to do. “Then Peter said unto them, ‘Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost’” (Acts 2:38).
Later, when Paul and Silas were freed from prison by a great earthquake, the jailor asked them what to do. “And they said, ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved and thy house.’ And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes, and was baptized, he and all his, straightway” (Acts 16:31-33).
It is in Christ that man can find the way to overcome sin and to follow God’s will. That is how Paul was able to say, “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing” (2 Timothy 4:6-8). It matters not the amount of money a person has, or what kind of prestigious job a person has or does not have. This opportunity to overcome sin and to go to heaven is part of the blessings offered by God to all who will study his word and obey it.
If we desire to live in eternity with God in heaven we must search for and follow the steps of Jesus as we travel through this world. “For even hereunto were ye called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps” (1 Peter 2:21). Mankind must realize that to listen to Satan only leads to destruction, but to listen to God leads to eternal life in heaven.
