At its May 25 meeting, the Exchange Club of Richmond Hill presented prizes to the winners of the Bryan County School Calendar Artwork Competition.
The club had invited children from all the county’s primary, elementary and middle schools to submit designs for the front page of the Bryan County School Calendar that the Exchange Club produces. The winners were:
First prize, Macy Fennell, sixth grade at Richmond Hill Middle School
Second, Amarria Elim, seventh grade at RHMS
Third, Stacy Armour, second grade at Richmond Hill Elementary School.
John Gough, calendar chairman for the club, thanked the children who entered and their teachers for organizing the work. He said more than 50 pieces of artwork were submitted "All entries were of a very high standard," he said, "making the job of judging extremely difficult.
Gough said the club appreciats area businesses that support the calendar with advertising.
The calendar will be distributed to 10,000 students, faculty, administrators and businesses in Bryan County in early August. The calendar is to help parents and students organize their school year, and includes planned events and activities scheduled at every public school in Bryan County from August to July 2017.
