Gill, Hammond to wed in May

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff (Brenda) Gill of Perkins, Oklahoma and Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Melody) Hammond of Ellabell, Georgia are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their children Christine (Christie) Joy Gill to Richard Jeremy Hammond.

 Christie is a graduate of the Perkins-Tryon High School in 2000, where she was Valedictorian and played in the band. She received a bachelor of science in elementary education from Oklahoma State University, in 2004, where she graduated summa cum laude. She taught K-4 in Stillwater prior to moving to Yantai, China. While in China, Christie assisted in the establishment of an international school and currently teaches there.

 Jeremy graduated with honors from Bryan County High School in 2002 where he played on the varsity baseball team. He received an associate degree in science graduating with honors from Truett McConnell College in Cleveland, Georgia where he also played varsity baseball. Jeremy graduated with a bachelor of science in chemistry from Armstrong Atlantic State University, summa cum laude, in 2006, in Savannah. He also served as a teacher in Yantai, China while establishing an international school. He is currently attending The Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta.

 The wedding will be celebrated on May 10, 2008 with the bride’s father officiating at the Sunnybrook Christian Church, Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The bride and groom will reside in Augusta following their wedding, and their honeymoon to China. Christie will teach elementary school and Jeremy will continue in dental school.
