Holiday closing: The Bryan County Libraries at Pembroke and Richmond Hill will be closed on Monday for the Labor Day holiday.

Remembrance service
Pembroke Christian Church will host a 9/11 remembrance service, sponsored by the North Bryan County Ministerial Association, on at 6 p.m. Sept. 9. The community is invited to bring a chair and enjoy an evening full of patriotic pride.

Splash event
Faith Harvest Sanctuary will have its annual “Back to School Splash” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 8 at the church at 1237 Bill Futch Road in Ellabell.
All ages are welcome. There will be inflatables, including “The Big Kahuna,” as well as a smaller water slide for younger children. There will also be hamburgers, hotdogs, chips and drinks.

Dolphin program
The Dolphin Project will host Dolphins and Desserts at 7 p.m. Sept. 15 in Stewart Hall at First Presbyterian Church at 520 Washington Ave. in Savannah.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Bill Savidge, who will talk about the importance of marshes, which offer protection from storms and serve as a nursery for coastal birds, amphibians and marine life, including our bottlenose dolphins.

BeachSweep
The Tybee BeachSweep will be from 7:30-10 a.m. Sept. 16.
Beach cleanup volunteers can meet at the North Beach Bar & Grill, 33 Meddin Drive on Tybee Island, for registration and materials.
Gloves, bags, grabbers, data cards, pencils, water and light refreshments will be provided.
Free parking will be available for all volunteers. Students should bring their community service forms.
