NEW YORK CITY I have loved Melissa McCarthy since she played kooky klutz Sookie St. James during all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls. Dont even talk to me about the fact that she wont be reprising her role for the Netflix reboot. Its too fresh.

Watching the former Groundlings performer turn from WB-series regular to bona fide movie star has been nothing short of gratifying. She has the kind of public persona that makes fans feel like their friend is getting their due after all their hard work. Or maybe thats just me wishing I had a friend like Melissa.

Either way, McCarthy has been working the talk show circuit promoting her new comedy feature The Boss and made a stop on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to participate in one of Fallons famous segments: Lip Sync Battle.
