RH Garden Club offers scholarship

The Richmond Hill Garden Club is accepting applications for its annual  scholarship of $1,000, available to a qualified graduating senior at Richmond Hill High School.
The winner must enroll in a two- or four-year college, a university or  technical college either in or out of Georgia, and be working toward an associate or bachelor’s degree.
The winner also must plan to pursue a major in a field related to environmental concerns, plants and/or gardening.
These majors include, but are not limited to, horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, landscape architecture, environmental design, environmental horticulture, botany, biology, plant pathology/science, forestry, agronomy, environmental science, urban and rural planning, wildlife science, habitat or forest ecology, land management or any other garden-related subjects, such as nursery management or arboriculture.
Applicants for the scholarship will be judged on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, volunteer projects, innovation and enthusiasm and a 250-word essay.
Applicants do not need to have any prior association with the club.
Interested students should contact Mr. Ingram at the high school for details and help with completing the application process.
The deadline for application is April 15.
