Wildcats off to even start on diamond

The Richmond Hill High School baseball team is off to a 2-2 start with wins over Metter and Rome and a pair of losses to Ringgold.

The defending Region 2-AAAAAA champion Wildcats opened the season Feb. 16 with a 9-4 loss to the Tigers who plated six runs in the seventh inning to steal the win. Richmond Hill bounced back with a 4-1 win over Metter on Friday, then fell 5-2 to Ringgold on Saturday morning.

The Wildcats evened their record at 2-2 with a 7-4 win over Rome on Saturday afternoon. Richmond Hill played at Ware County on Tuesday and plays Woodstock at 2:41 p.m. today at Armstrong State.

The Wildcats host a doubleheader Friday, with a 3:30 p.m. contest against Franklin County and Creekview at 6 p.m.
