Summer Wildcats sweep Southeast Bulloch

Head Coach Sean Strickland and his Wildcat summer baseball league successfully swept a double-header series against Southeast Bulloch last week.

They won the first game against Southeast Bulloch 8-2 last Monday, paced by a great performance on the mound from Raul Rodriguez.

He threw the complete 5 innings. At the plate Taylor Smith, Jacob Thrash, and Darius Lofton led the attack.

Thrash had a clutch triple late in the game that put the score out of the reach of the Yellow Jackets.

In the second game, the big bats of the Wildcats came to life. Jeremy Goolsby continued to intimidate opposing teams by crushing two doubles to center and right.

Getting in on the act was Cody Rushing who blasted a base loaded triple to the right-center gap plating 3 runs. With all of the offensive support, Ryan Dickey was able to keep SEB at bay. The final score was RH 8-4.

Due to some cancellations, these were the last two games of the summer season. All that remains is the GRPA state tournament July 11-14 in Effingham County.

"The team has really improved from the first game until now, and that is the best measure of success," said Strickland. "These boys truly love playing the game, and I have never seen a group with this much enthusiasm from the first pitch to the last out."
