A Richmond Hill running group known as SARC has the motto, “Run hard, be kind” and the group is definitely trying to make a difference, according to Sara Maltby.

SARC has raised $11,000 to go toward unpaid lunch debts incurred by students in Bryan County Schools over the last three years through various events.

SARC also was honored by Family Promise of Bryan County for its work on behalf of the organization, which seeks to help homeless families help themselves.

In addition, the club is hosting a yard sale Feb. 23 at Maltby's house. All  proceeds will go to paying off school lunch debt.
