Richmond Hill falls to Liberty County

Liberty County spoiled homecoming night at Richmond Hill, winning 13-0 in the Region 2A-AAAA opener for both teams.

The Panthers got a pair of touchdowns from junior running back Shadrach Thorton. 

Senior quarterback Eli Thompson led the Wildcats with  41 yards on 15 carries. He completed 4 of 7 passes for 82 yards and an interception. Senior defensive back Josh Miller had six tacklesand a 46-yard interception return in the 4th quarter, while defensive lineman Richard Cohen had four tackles and three assists. 

The loss drops Richmond Hill to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in the subregion. The Panthers improved to 2-3 and 1-0 in 2A-AAAA.

The Wildcats travel to Wayne County next up. Liberty plays host to Brunswick on Thursday night.
