Turnovers and special teams play gave Glynn Academy the edge over Richmond Hill for most of Friday night. The superior field position gave the Red Terrors full advantage, beating the Wildcats 29-10 in a region 2A-AAAA game at Wildcat Field.
A punt return to the one yard line set up Glynn County's Chris Wood for the first touchdown of his three in the game and a punt attempt snapped over the head and out of the end zone led to the Red Terror's second score, a safety.
Canon Rooker kicked a 36 yard field goal in the second quarter to keep Richmond Hill close and Dominique Allen's one-yard run in the third quarter even gave Richmond Hill a brief 10-9 lead. More special teams' miscues and three interceptions kept the Wildcats from sustaining any further drives.
Glynn's Edgar Batiste had all three interceptions off of Allen the final one being returned for a late touchdown. In spite of the score, Richmond Hill played well on defense and was led by Conner Beason and Josh Bryant each with seven solo tackles.
Richmond Hill,(3-4, 0-3) will travel to Ware County, who beat Liberty County 21-7 Friday, next week
