RHHS swimmers fare well at state championship

The Richmond Hill High School swim team competed in the state championship meet last week in Atlanta. The boys came in 10th overall and girls 19th, both in the 7A division. 

The team set records both in the number of swimmers that competed as well as the number of athletes that scored points. The top 20 in each event scored points. 

The point getters for the girls were Emily Fang, 13th in the 200 IM (2:13.11) and 17th in the 100 fly (1:00.35), London Best, 17th in the 50 fr (25.12), the girls 200 medley relay (Emily Fang, Katherine Bezner, Emily Bradshaw, London Best) finished 14th (1:53.61), the girls 200 fr relay (Vivian Tillery, London Best, Natalie Cuson, Emily Fang) finished 9th (1:42.69), and the girls 400 fr relay (Vivian Tillery, Ava Follansby, Caroline Bezner, Gabriella Brodany) finished 18th (3:58.15).  

Other girls that swam individual events were Vivian Tillery in the 50 fr (29th, 26.11), Emily Bradshaw in the 100 fly (24th, 1:02.94), Caroline Bezner in the 100 fly (31st, 1:04.32), Gabriella Brodany in the 100 fly (33rd, 1:05.66), Long Best in the 100 bk (33rd, 1:04.25), and Katherine Bezner in the 100 br (22nd, 1:11.4)

The point getters for the boys were Aiden Gray in the 200 fr (6th, 1:42.33), and 100 fr (8th, 47.54) and Brody Williams in the 50 fr (14th, 21.97) and 100 fly (17th, 53.51) Jack Hendricks in the 200 IM (13th, 1:59.68) and 100 fly (20th, 54.65), and Xander Brion in the 100 br (13th, 1:00.21).

The boys 200 Medley Relay (Josh Mattison, Xander Brion, Jack Hendricks, Brody Willams) finished 10th (1:39.04) and in the 200 fr relay (Xander Brion, Alex Lee, Jaxon Maish, Aiden Gray) finished 8th (1:30.18)
