Hendrix Park Super Soccer had a short but sweet week of action and adventure.

On Tuesday night the Fireballs hit the field against the Sharks in a closeout. With the assistance of Dallas Ryder, Caleb Johns and Sarah Coursey, Fireballs’ hot-footer Nathan Woods scorched five goals in past Zachary Turner, Levon Gaines and the rest of Sharks defense. The Sharks fought back but were held at bay by the sizzling-hot Fireballs for a 5-0 red team victory.

In other Tuesday night action, the Grasshoppers faced the Yellowjackets in a grueling match-off. Grasshopper Jermaine McKinney once again dominated the field and with the assistance of John Yearty, Jeb Boyette and Nadja Shellman, McKinney scored three goals for the green team. Yellowjackets’ Garret Joyce fought back with one goal but the buzzing hive couldn’t manage to get past the Grasshoppers’ back fielders Andrew Beacham, Katelynn Swaney and stellar goalie Lane Christian. Grasshoppers took home another win 3-1.

Thursday night play was canceled due to bad weather. Games will be rescheduled at the end of the season.
