Former Richmond Hill High School standout Kevin Matthews has agreed to terms with the Texas Rangers, the club announced Saturday.

Details of the contract weren't released, but the Dallas Morning News reported Matthews received a signing bonus of $936,000. 

Matthews, who went 4-2 with the Wildcats in 2011, was the Rangers' top draft pick and the 33rd overall pick in the first-year player draft June 6.
