Virginia signee Kevin Matthews threw a no-hitter and Richmond Hill blanked cross-country rival Bryan County 12-0 in five innings on Tuesday in Pembroke in the 2011 season opener for both teams.
Richmond Hill had 11 hits and was led at the plate by Hunter Hadley, who had three hits in four at bats and scored two runs.
