Season ends early for defending 2-AAAA champs

It was only a quarterfinal game on a Thursday night but if you didn't have a seat in the Richmond Hill gym thirty minutes before the 8 p.m. tipoff, you didn't get one.
A crowd of 1,500 anxiously awaited the match up of Richmond Hill and No. 1-seed Effingham. Ticket sales were cut off while both teams were in pre-game warm up.
Effingham was playing its first game of the tournament after gaining an opening round bye. Richmond Hill defeated Lakeside Evans 51-40 Tuesday.
The Rebels opened the game hitting a three pointer and then adding two more baskets. Richmond Hill was forced to take a timeout.
