Richmond Hill made a statement to the rest of 2A-AAAA on Friday. They are no one man team.

With starting point guard Lorenza Ross in street clothes with a sprained ankle, the rest of coach William Altman’s team dominated visiting Ware County 58-41.

Vernon Jackson led all scorers for Richmond Hill with 17 points, Brandon Jordan added 12. While the rebounding statistics were not readily available the two Wildcat big men obviously dominated the boards at both ends of the floor.

DAngelo Johnson drew the defensive assignment against the Gators Quintin Edwards and frustrated the talented point guard all night, holding him to 13 points. Cameron Howard added 13 points for the Gators as well. While Johnson chipped in 10 points of his own including a sizzling lay up dunk over a Gator defender in the second period that ignited the Wildcat rally.

The Wildcats improved to 11-4, 2-1 in region 2A-AAAA, Ware fell to 4-10, 0-3. Richmond Hill will play at South Effingham tonight and host Glynn Academy Tuesday for another big region contest.
