RH baseball splits double-header

The Richmond Hill baseball team split its double-header at Winder-Barrow Wednesday in the second round of the state tournament, dropping the first game 7-3 before taking game two 3-2.

Rick Mitchell, Braden Henle and Kip Gibson each had an RBI in the win, while Mitchell went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and two walks.

Jackson Finley struck out five to pick up the win, and Kasey Green got the save.

In the first game, Chris Sewell and Will McGrath both went 2-for-3 batting, while McGrath had two RBIs.

The teams play the “if necessary” game today at 5 p.m. at Winder-Barrow to determine who advances in the playoffs. Winder-Barrow, 30-3, is the No. 1 team in 6A. The Wildcats are now 22-11.
