Redskins stop losing skid
Covington hits two home runs

CLAXTON - Ben Covington smacked two home runs and Bryan County High School stopped a three-game losing streak with an 8-5 win over Region 3A-A foe Claxton on Tuesday.
Pitcher Garrett Riggleman picked up the win, going six innings and allowing five runs while striking out four. Nick Rud earned the save, allowing no hits or runs in the seventh inning.
Covington finished the night 3 for 3 with five RBIs. Zach Shinall was 2 for 4 with two stolen bases, a walk and a run scored. Shane Dillon was 2 for 4 with a double and one run.
The Redskins (6-5, 1-3) didn't commit an error during the game.
"The defense was as good as it has been all year," Bryan County coach Tony Dragon said.
The Redskins play host to Savannah Country Day on Friday. The first pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
