Bryan County High School boys basketball coach Allen Clark knows what it is to have a rough year. The Redskins (1-26) won only once last season and struggled to stay within 10 points of opponents while losing several games by 30 or more.
"It was a very tough year," Clark said. "It will be important for us to get off to a good start, otherwise we might not be able to shake those demons."
That's not to say Clark expects another one-win campaign, despite a roster that includes only three seniors and a junior.
The remaining nine players are either sophomores or freshmen - one reason Clark thinks it could be slow going until his team learns to play together.
"We are very young and we have very few veteran players," he said. "It will be tough early in the season as the team tries to bond and work together. I think if a few things fall our way we could have a very successful season. But we must get off to a good start."
