Bryan County grad Quran George recently received his state championship ring for winning the Class AA title in the 110-meter hurdles. The ring was donated by Herff Jones of Statesboro.
George broke the school record in the hurdles three times this past spring, culminating in a time of 14.87 seconds in the state finals. George also received All-State honors by placing eighth in the triple jump at the state track meet with a leap of 43-7.
George, who had received an offer to run track at USC-Beaufort, has decided to pursue a military career, according to Redskins track coach Blake NeSmith.
