Lady Wildcats win Region 2-AAAA soccer crown
Richmond Hill edges rival Glynn Academy 2-1

In their first year in Class AAAA, the Richmond Hill High School girls are region soccer champions.
The Lady Wildcats (15-2-1) won the Region 2-AAAA crown Tuesday night at home by edging rival Glynn Academy 2-1.
Richmond Hill got goals from Sarah Goolsby and Lindsey Vasher. Vasher and Marjan Mustafa had assists.
Senior defender Elizabeth Campbell anchored the RHHS defense and Lauren Chesney recorded five saves.
Ally Brashear scored Glynn Academy's goal and keeper Camille Hathaway had 12 saves.
The win secures a No. 1 seed for the Lady Wildcats in the upcoming state Class AAAA playoffs. Glynn Academy falls to 16-2 and will be the No. 2 seed in the state tournament, which gets under way next week.

Note: The Wildcats (11-6) were behind 2-0 to Greenbrier on Tuesday in Augusta. If they lose, the Wildcats will be the No. 4 seed from Region 2-AAAA in the boys tournament.
