The Bryan County High School girls' basktball team improved to 7-2 with a 44-30 win Tuesday night at Truetlen County.
That followed a 65-39 win on Dec. 16 in which Diamond McGirt poured in 26 points and added four steals and Satashala Beasley had 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Lady Redskins.
"I am really proud off our defensive effort during the past two games," BCHS girls' coach Mario Mincey said. "We have had a chance to play some of our younger players and give them a chance to gain some valuable experience."
The Lady Redskins will travel to Mount Vernon next week to get some tournament experience.
"We will play two tough games at the Brewton Parker Holiday tournament and hope this will help us get ready for region play in January. We have talked about playing better, even though we are 7-2, and understand our region will be tough."

In the boy's game, Truetlen County knocked off BCHS, 81-58. Kajana Dixon led the Redskins with 18 points and Khalil Smith chipped in 12.
