Johnson named Region 2-AAAA player of year

Aliyah Johnson was named the top player in Region 2-AAAA by region coaches after the Lady Wildcats (24-3) won the 2-AAAA title and set a school record for consecutive games won. Johnson, who has signed with Wofford, averaged 19 points a game this season. Also earning postseason honors were coach Elizabeth Bennett, coach of the year, Keeara Jackson, second team and Sarah Goolsby and Charmia Graham, who earned honorable mention. On the boy's team, Spencer Buck, James Williams, Kody Morales and Alex Cruz earned All Region 2A-AAAA .
