Screven Co.

Bryan County High School swept Screven County in a girls’ and boys’ basketball doubleheader Monday in Sylvania.

The Lady Gamecocks won the opener 52-23 behind 24 points, eight rebounds and a blocked shot from Julianne Brown. Kaylin Leggett added 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals for BCHS, which improved to 8-4 overall.

In the nightcap, Bryan County remained unbeaten with a 73-53 win over the Gamecocks. Individual stats were not available Tuesday.

RHHS boys lose

Richmond Hill High School (9-3) lost 56-38 to Brunswick on Tuesday in the Savannah Holiday Classic.

The loss was the second-straight for the Wildcats, who earlier dropped a 63-52 decision to Johnson in the same tournament. Richmond Hill opened the tourney Friday with a 67-63 win over Southwest Delkab.

Isaiah Hill led the scoring with 18 points while M.J. Hall had 15 points and Montrell Washington chipped in 13.

RHHS is at 9-3 overall.

In girls’ action, RHHS beat New Hampstead 27-25, on Tuesday after falling 41-32 to Lee County and 62-22 to Beach earlier in the tournament.
