It’s getting to be that time of year again.

Preparations are under way for the 13th annual Good Ol’ Boys – John Stevens Santa Scramble golf tournament to benefit needy children through the Bryan County Children’s Fund.

Funds raised in the tournament help ensure that no child in Bryan County goes without a Christmas gift. Thousands of Bryan County children have benefited as a result of the Santa Scramble, which this year is Nov. 9 at Sterling Links Golf Club in Richmond Hill.

Along with the Good Ol’ Boys, the Bryan County News is a lead sponsor for the tournament, which helps buy toys, food and clothing for eligible kids referred by schools, churches and local social service agencies.

The Santa Scramble is the largest fundraiser for the Children’s Fund, which in turn is the single largest such effort in Bryan County.

Gold sponsors can also man a booth with literature and a representative, and the Gold sponsor’s log will be used in advertisements for the tournament. Gold sponsors also receive two four-man teams. •
