Flag football season wraps up
RHHS

The Richmond Hill based NFL Flag season came to an official close on Sunday as champions were crowned at the conclusion of the playoffs.

The Texans would complete their season as the undefeated champions in the middle school-aged division, by defeating the Bengals 32-12.

The Texans won their playoff match against the Colts by a 28-21 score to put them in the championship.

The Bengals’ quarterback went down in their playoff game but Amare McCorvey stepped up to finish the game at quarterback. The Falcons made a late push to tie the game at 18-18 at the end of regulation but the Bengals would win 20-18 in overtime to advance to the championship.

The Texans win would be the second straight championship for head coach Darrell Thomas, who won the middle school championship in 2023 as well, coaching as the Eagles.

The winner of the 4th and 5th grade division would go to the Falcons, as they cruised past the Chiefs 46-18 in the championship.

The Falcons defeated the Jets 46-13 in their playoff game to advance to the championship game against the Chiefs.

The Chiefs would defeat the Patriots by a score of 32-19 in their playoff game, to advance to the championship with the Falcons.

While they were not in the playoffs, the 4th and 5th grade Bills defeated the Broncos by a final score of 19-6.

The middle school division Steelers would defeat the Ravens 34-6 as well, though neither team were in the playoffs.
