ATLANTA -- Savannah State University basketball player Trey Deloach has been named to the 2021-22 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) All-Conference preseason team, according to a press release from the conference office that was released on Oct. 27, 2021.
The six foot five senior forward from Richmond Hill was named to the All-SIAC Second Team.
During the 2019-20 season, Deloach averaged 10.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He made 51 percent of his shots from the floor and managed a 57% shooting average from the free-throw line.
Tuskegee University's Gregg Boyd was voted as the SIAC Men's Preseason Player of the Year and LeMoyne-Owen College's Jaquan Lawrence was voted the preseason Defensive Player of the Year.
In the preseason rankings, the Tigers were voted to finish fifth in the SIAC East.
Albany State University was voted to win the SIAC East Division followed by Benedict College, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, SSU and Fort Valley State University.
Miles College was voted first in the SIAC West Division. Following Miles is Tuskegee, Central State University, Kentucky State University, LeMoyne-Owen, Lane College and Spring Hill College.
Allen University and Edward Waters University are first-year provisional members of NCAA Division II and are not eligible for SIAC competition.
Savannah State will play an exhibition game against the Fort Stewart Army team on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. in Tiger Arena to open the 2021-22 season. The Tigers open the regular season on Nov. 16 at Saint Leo University in Florida. The regular season home opener is slated for Nov. 27 against Claflin University at 7 p.m.
