The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) released its weekly awards for baseball Monday, with Georgia College & State University outfielder Evan Cowan of Richmond Hill named PBC Freshman of the Week.

The former Wildcat Cowan hit .471 over four games out of the leadoff spot with five runs scored.

The centerfielder collected hits in all four games during the week, including a .636 average in a three-game sweep of Augusta University. He went 3-for-4 in the opener against the Jaguars with a double and two runs scored. He was 2-for-4 in the second game with an RBI and drove in another in game three as he went 2-for-3. He had a .522 on-base percentage and stole a base. Cowan is currently ninth in the PBC in batting average.
