Bennett stepping down as RHHS baseball coach to become assistant principal

Richmond Hill High School coach Stacy Bennett will step down as the school's baseball coach to become an assistant principal and assistant athletic director at RHHS. 

Former Wildcats standout Scott Strickland will be the interim head coach. 

Bennett spent nine years leading the Wildcats program and built it into one of the top programs in the area. The 2017 team advanced to the Class AAAAAA Elite 8.

Bennett's wife, Elizabeth, a former girls head basketball coach at RHHS, is an assistant principal at Richmond Hill Middle School.

Bennett, a business education teacher at RHHS, was appointed as an assistant principal during a Bryan County Board of Education called work session Thursday night in Richmond Hill, though the appointments were not released until Friday afternoon. 

Also appointed as assistant principals were Blaine Ennis, Bryan County Middle School; Dr. Marcy Lee, Bryan County High School; Jessica Ogden, RHHS and Kaitlin Hutchinson, RHHS..

Lee will also serve as athletic director at BCHS, the press release said.
