AUSA, established in 1950, is a private nonprofit organization that supports the Army. AUSA considers active duty soldiers, reservists, National Guard, retirees, veterans, wounded warriors, military family members and government employees as members of the Army community. AUSA’s mission is to be the voice for all components of the U.S. Army; foster public support of the Army’s role in national security; and provide professional education and information programs, according to ausa.org.
