Only one Bryan County team will be in action in week 2 high school football.
The Bryan County Redskins are high off their first win since 2018, defeating Butler 38-12 on Aug. 20.
Heading into their next week of football, the Redskins (1-0) will be heading to Lincolnton to face Head Coach Cherard Freeman’s alma mater, the Lincoln County Red Devils (0-0) in a non-region game.
This will be the first contest of the Red Devils’ season.
The Redskins will be looking to start up a winning streak after breaking the longest active losing streak in the state at 24 a week ago.
The Redskins-Red Devils game is set for 7:30 on Aug. 27 in Lincolnton.
Out in Richmond Hill, the Wildcats will be inactive this week in competitive play.
After dropping their season opener at Beaufort, the Wildcats have an early bye week.
This would serve as a help for the Wildcats as 54 players were not allowed to dress for the Beaufort game due to being placed on COVID-19 close contact quarantine, giving the players an extra week to test negative if they caught the virus.
The Wildcats will not return to the field until Sept. 3 when they go to Jesup to compete against Wayne County in a non-region battle.
