The Richmond Hill/South Bryan County community has a wonderful opportunity to show off our fair town in a few weeks as we host the State Little League Baseball Tournament (10- and 11-year-olds) July 13-20.
A group of dedicated volunteers has been meeting for weeks to help plan this event to make sure the players and their families enjoy their stay, but also to showcase Richmond Hill to the visitors and all that our town has to offer.
From our community’s wonderful rich history, to the scenic hiking trails and pristine waterways, to the delicious local restaurants and unique shops, we hope our guests will be impressed with Richmond Hill during their stay.
This event will bring 120 families to Richmond Hill from all over the state of Georgia. They will be “living” with us for a week. We would like the community to open its doors to them and show them our Southern hospitality. All businesses are encouraged to roll out the red carpet as we welcome visitors to our community.
The tournament will begin with a banquet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, in the Richmond Hill Elementary School on Frances Meeks Drive. The opening day ceremonies will begin on at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 14, on field 12 at the Richmond Hill Park off Timber Trail Road. We will then host four games each day beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 14, through Friday, July 20.
The theme for the week is “Your Field of Dreams.” Please help welcome these families into our community by putting a special message on your marquee, signs, etc., and making sure your place of business is neat and tidy — we want Richmond Hill to really “shine” for this event and encourage our guests to spend their dollars locally.
