On November 14th, the Bryan County Commissioners proudly accepted a big check for $1 million dollars. The presenter clearly stated that these funds came from HUD- The Federal Department of Housing & Urban Development.
When asked to cheer & applaud, I couldn’t. I was speechless and in shock.
Are our county leaders ignorant of the fact that our Federal government is $34 Trillion in debt and that the deficit for 2023 alone was $2 trillion dollars?
Don’t our county leaders know that when you’re out of money you should stop spending?
We all know that the leadership in Washington D.C. is bad and corrupt.
But we have higher expectations of our local county leadership.
It appears that when some one offers us a million dollars, we lose our common sense & forget all about our national debt crisis and the fact that every single American now owes $101,000.
Why would our county leaders want to pile even more debt upon the backs of our children and grandchildren? How are we ever going to pay it all back? This is irresponsible behavior.
This bad decision was not only fiscally irresponsible, it’s also shows ignorance and lack of respect for the Constitution. The 10th Amendment clearly states that the authority of the Federal govt is limited only to those powers delegated to it by the Constitution.
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Does the constitution give the federal government authority to regulate housing? No! Therefore HUD, the Department of Housing & Urban development is unconstitutional.
“Helping you meet your housing needs” is a good thing--but it is reserved to the states.
Oh, by the way, Georgia doesn’t even need federal money. We have $10.7 Billion in surplus cash in the bank. We need to send this $1,000,000 back to Washington and we need our County Leaders to get back to following the Constitution and using common sense.
The good people of Bryan County love America and we don’t want to part of the problem, we want to be part of the solution.
