If we can just love
pastor corner

When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was, His answer is found in Mark 12:30-31 where it says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

The second is this: “Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

If we love God with our total being then we will want to please Him and do what He has instructed us to do. We will desire to do what is right and will pattern our lives after the example left us by God’s Son, Jesus Christ.

If we love our neighbor like we love ourselves then we will not want to do anything that will bring harm to them. Galatians 5:14 even says that “the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command.”

You see, if you love your neighbor as yourself then you will not want to kill him or steal from him or lie about him or commit adultery against him or covet what he has.

How much better of a world it would be if those of us who say we love God and others would just really mean it and show it through our words and actions.
