God wants to speak to us
pastor corner

The fact is, God has always spoken to his creation. In the Bible we see after creating Adam and Eve, He spent time communicating to them in the garden of Eden. We see where God called out to Noah, Abraham, and then to Moses from a burning bush.

Then he spoke through His prophets as referred to in the book of Hebrews chapter one where it says, “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways...”.

The writer continues on with how God speaks to us now through Jesus Christ, God’s Son, when he says, “but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son...” We find the actual words that Jesus spoke primarily in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Jesus is still speaking through those who will be willing to be used of Him to tell the story of a Savior who can forgive sin, change one’s heart, and promise eternal life. In Acts 1:8 we are told that God intends for his followers to be witnesses in all the world. Romans 10:14 asks the question, “How can they (people) hear without someone preaching to them?” So, as followers of Jesus,we have an awesome responsibility to be spokespersons for God concerning salvation available through His Son Jesus Christ. We are to proclaim the Word of God.

For most people, the issue is not that they have not heard but it becomes an issue of listening and then turning to God and surrendering one’s life to Him.
