Giving thanks after avoiding disaster
pastor corner

Looking back over my life I can remember several times when I narrowly avoided disaster or tragedy. More recently, while on a trip in South Dakota, driving a rental car, I came up to light turning yellow. I concluded that it was best to stop rather than the risk of running a red light.

Looking in my mirror I quickly noticed a truck approaching the back end of my car. I believe the driver thought I was going to go through the light, and that he was going to try to follow me through it. I hit the gas and he barely missed smashing in the back of my car. If that would have happened, then it could have ruined my vacation and possibly brought on injury to my wife and me. I immediately thanked the Lord for giving me the ability to make the right decision in such a short notice and for protecting us.

To be honest, there are so many times and in so many situations where we should give the Lord thanksgiving and praise. God is so good to me, and I can say that He has spared me from disaster many, many times.

I am determined to give credit where credit is due and take every opportunity to give this awesome God that I serve praise and honor and I trust that this is your desire as well.
