Fiber is the superhero you should call on now

You’re in danger. Your life could be cut short.

You don’t want to die.

Luckily, a superhero is available to save your life. Would you signal for help?

From my extensive research of movies and comics, the superhero is proven to be an easy call.

For your continued life, to lose weight, and to get away from the thief that is chronic disease like diabetes, cancer and heart disease, there’s a superhero who has always been there for us, but who 95% of us seldom call. It’s plant food with fiber.

Why do doctors and credible health professionals make such a big deal about eating a diet full of natural unprocessed, primarily plantbased foods? Plants have fiber, micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), and healthy calories.

After much research into alternatives, there is wide consensus on what superfood to eat. Natural plant food with FIBER is the Clark Kent in our grocery store that 19 of 20 people don’t call until we’re halfway dead.

What we know: the evil villain in the story is the mass processed food we eat daily. Hint: It’s seldom good for you to hang out with the rogues.

Fast food and processed meals lead to obesity, a messed up digestion and energy processing facility, and increasing organ failure (heart, kidney, pancreas, etc.) if that’s our regular primary intake.

The true hero, fiber is a type of carbohydrate found primarily in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. Eating the minimum amount not only helps keep you regular, but also applies other dramatic health benefits, especially for people with diabetes or prediabetes.

That could be you (40% of Americans). We all need fiber to keep our internal plumbing humming like a fine-tuned engine. Unfortunately, most adults only get about half the fiber they need each day.

You wouldn’t run your car without gasoline or oil. Why would you do it to your body? Especially when FIBER is about a million times cheaper than gas right now.

To dial your superhero, you just need the right number. About 25 grams a day for women, 30 for males, 16 for adolescents.

Benefits of Fiber from the CDC:

• Controls your blood sugar: the body is unable to absorb and break down fiber, it doesn’t cause a spike in blood sugar the way other carbohydrates can. This can help keep your blood sugar in your target range.

• Protects your heart: fiber prevents your body from taking in some fat and cholesterol, lowering your triglyceride and cholesterol levels to help reduce your risk of heart disease.

• Maintain your digestive health. Fiber acts like a scrub brush, cleaning your digestive tract. It helps clean out bacteria and other buildup to improve gut health and help reduce your risk of colon cancer.

• Weight management by keeping you full. Fiber can’t be digested and it moves slowly through the stomach, making you feel fuller for longer. Foods high in fiber tend to be low in calories, which helps with weight loss.

Like all superhero action, good benefits come fast, even miraculously once you suspend your belief and shine the bat signal. I believe. Our hero is standing by to save the day!

Find the foods you like with fiber…and try new foods fiber-packed with 4+ grams per serving.

Popular fiber filled foods include:

• All-bran cereal

• Beans

• Peas

• Spinach

• Sweet corn

• Red cabbage

• Carrots

• Baked potato with skin

• Apples, bananas, oranges, and all other fruits At least two generations of Americans have suffered greatly from obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure because our beloved red meats and fast foods are almost devoid of fiber. People who work and kids (who cannot provide their own meals) average one fast food meal a day. They are in harm’s way if they don’t find a way to get fiber in their diet.

Extensive research shows a varied, natural diet is proven to be best for your overall health.

An unnatural diet - one with many processed and fast food - is causing millions of people to subtly suffer and statistically die much sooner than someone who is able to avoid the processed foods and their included extra fat, sugar, salt and overall empty calories.

Try adding more fibrous fruits and veggies to your meals. Your body will be grateful-like having a superhero as a pal.
