Almost everything changes, from the way we look, to popular items people want for Christmas. There are fads and increases in technology that cause changes in the way we live. There are positive changes which come about as a result of becoming a follower of Jesus which include our beliefs and lifestyles.

There are things that will never change such as God Himself. Malachi 3:6 says, “I am the Lord, I change not”, and Hebrews 13:8, speaking about God the Son, says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”.

God’s Word will never change for Matthew 24:35 tells us that “Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away”.

With stories, sometimes adapted into film, there are remakes that can change some characters and events. But with the Christmas story, told to us in scripture, there is only one story that is part of the inspired scriptures. It has been told for centuries and will continue to be told in this world until Jesus Christ returns to earth to reign over His future kingdom.

I hope, this year, that you will read the Christmas story again and that the coming of the Messiah will mean something personal to you because Jesus is your Savior and Lord.
