Always be following God’s way

As much as some would like to deny it, the word of God cannot be ignored. Each person one day will give an accounting.

One’s destiny in eternity is set by what one does in life. Each person needs to take the time to study God’s word, believe it and obey it. God has blessed everyone with the opportunity to follow him. One may ignore God today if that is they desire, but one day they will plainly see, “one cannot get away from God.”

Knowing that one will stand accountable for the way they react to God should make everyone search for the truth in all religious matters. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad” (2 Cor. 5:10).

It is not popular in some circles to believe in God. David wrote, “The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God (Psalm 14:1). They reject the evidence they see each day and choose to believe a theory of how man evolved from an ape. “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth his handiwork” (Psalm 19:1).

Peter wrote of those who ignored creation, the flood and the fact that God one day will destroy the earth (2 Peter 3). Yet many today ignore the evidence of God.

God’s word has been given to man that he might come to understand God’s love and God’s terms for forgiveness.

James wrote, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:22).

Those who refuse to listen and obey God now will find one day that God will not listen to them. “Therefore, it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the Lord of hosts” (Zech. 7:13). Luke tells of one who ignored God during his lifetime and realized too late what he had done (Luke 16:23-26).

God loves everyone and wants all to be saved, but he created man to have his own will, so that he could determine for himself his destiny. If a person investigates what it takes to obey God, it is readily seen that obedience is a must, and it is not too much to be asked by God to obey him. It takes study of the word and then obedience to that word.

Don’t turn your back on God. Search his word and obey it while time is on your side.
