Proudly identifying as a Christian
pastor corner

This past week I was in Sam's Club in line for some pizza when I couldn't help overhearing 2 men talking about the draft picks their pro football team made a few days earlier. They were living here but must have had some roots in the areas where their favorite football team resided. What amused me was the fact that they kept using the word "we", identifying themselves to their team. Let me give you an example; "that pick we made in the third round is a steal and is really going to be good". People choose to identify themselves with all kinds of organizations and movements and they are proud of it.

Christianity is made up of people who are very proud to be identified with Jesus Christ and can use the word "we" when speaking about it. In the Bible, the Apostle Paul said it this way in Romans 1:16: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes...". If you are a follower of Jesus then you are part of a family, and a faith, and a fellowship and can be proud of who you are and who you identify with. You can go around saying "we" when sharing about it.

The great news is that if you can't identify with being a Christian, you can by surrendering your life to Jesus Christ.
