In Psalm 109, verse 4, David describes himself as “a man of prayer”. I presume this means that he made prayer a regular habit; he had a consistent prayer life. David could have said several other positive things as well, such as having a servant’s heart and a desire to be holy, etc.
If you did some self-examination, how would you describe yourself? Would you be able to say, “I am a man or woman of prayer”? Is prayer a regular habit with you; do you have a consistent prayer life? Are there other godly virtues that you could say about yourself? Do you have a servant’s heart, and do you have a desire to live a holy life? Taking a step further, what would others say about you? Would they be able to say they know you are a person of prayer? If so, then they would be more apt to ask you to pray for them and their needs.
