A chance to learn

Care about your local schools?

Curious about the folks running for the Bryan County Board of Education?

If you answered yes to either of those questions you may want to attend the first Bryan County News-Richmond Hill/Bryan County Chamber of Commerce BoE hopefuls forum Thursday evening. In short, this is your chance to not only hear the seven candidates running for school board seats tackle tough questions posed by our readers, but also ask your own questions or meet the candidates one-on-one afterward.

The event is from 6:30-8 p.m. on the third floor of the Speir-Brogdon Building in the Crossroads Center off Hwy. 17, thanks in large part to the generosity of Gene and Carole Brogdon. They donated the space without hesitation or restriction.

Hopefully, we'll be able to do similar forums in the future, though a lot depends on the response we get from the public. That's one reason we hope you take the time to attend.

The other?

You'll hopefully learn something and be a more informed voter. That's never a bad thing.
