The Rotary Club held its annual Christmas party and, as in previous years, the group invited the senior citizens from both the Pembroke and Richmond Hill senior centers to join them in the holiday lunch on Thursday. Rotarian Charles Teel helped organize the event for the seniors and made sure enough holiday gift bags were available for each and every one of them; the Rotarians funded and helped fill the bags for the seniors to take home.

Also joining them at the event were some special guests. Carver Elementary’s 5th grade chorus, with their instructor Gina Hughes, sang several Christmas numbers, including a sing-along. Richmond Hill piano instructor and Rotarian Donna Dasher brought a number of her students on ‘tour’ with her to the lunch. She said the students have never played with six keyboards all going at once and this year’s experience has been a great challenge for them. The Life Moves Dance Studio brought a few of their Nutcracker performers along to the lunch. They performed some numbers from the ballet for the crowd and one of the dancers even did her dance to live music provided by Dasher and her students.
