The Bryan County School System once again delivered in a big way to United Way of the Coastal Empire’s Annual Campaign, donating more than $43,000.

At a recent Bryan County Board of Education meeting, the following awards were presented for their 2022 donations:

1. The Generosity Award: presented to the Bryan County Schools Central Office for the highest average dollar amount raised per staff member.

2. The Chairman’s Award: presented to Dr. George Washington Carver Elementary School for the highest percentage of giving over the previous year.

3. The Caring Cup Award: presented to McAllister Elementary School for the highest percentage of staff giving.

“The Bryan County School System is the top giver to United Way’s Annual Campaign in Bryan County and is consistently in the top 30 of organizations and companies that give in the entire four-county region! No one sees or knows the needs of families and children of our community better than those who work in our school system so not surprisingly, they are United Way’s biggest givers,” said Brianne Yontz, Bryan County area director.

“We are truly grateful for the support we receive from Superintendent Dr. Paul Brooksher, the Bryan County Board of Education, and all of the faculty and staff at every school because together we are improving lives in Bryan County.”
