In May the speed limit was reduced to 45 mph because of training for the Oregon National Guard’s 41st Infantry Brigade Combat Team.  Reducing the speed limit resulted in safe highway movement for military and civilian vehicles.  No incidents occurred on the highways where the speed limit was reduced.

Drivers are still urged to drive safely and be aware of military vehicles traveling at 40 mph on the highways or crossing the highways at tank trails.
