Six people, including three children, killed in I-95 crash in Midway

Six people are dead following a head on collision on I-95 in Liberty County early Sunday morning, according to Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol

Liberty County Sheriff’s Deputy Lt. Jason Colvin, said around 2 a.m. the Liberty County 911 issued a look out advisory on a white Lexus traveling southbound in the northbound lane. As deputies were headed to the interstate a call came out that a wreck had occurred on I-95 at exit 76 in Midway.

When deputies arrived they found two vehicles which had collided head on.

According to GSP Trooper, Markus White there were no survivors.

Killed were the Lexus driver, whose vehicle had Florida license plates, and two adults and three children in an SUV with Virginia tags.

The Georgia State Patrol said the 77-year-old man in the Lexus, who has not been identified, was not likely under the influence.

The passengers in the SUV have since been identified as: 41-year-old Sara Robinson, 37-year-old Nathan Robinson, 12 or 13-year-old Stephen Robinson, 13 or 14-year-old Rebecca Robinson, 4 or 5-year-old Alexander Robinson. All five were from Portsmouth, Virginia.

The victims of both vehicles had to be extracted from the vehicles by the Midway Fire Department.

Interstate 95 was closed for several hours at exit 76.
